Spring Thyme ~Plowing up the Fields, or just more Home Decor...

Often I get the comment from my husband...."Now what are you going to do with that junk?"
I thought maybe he could use these at a some point to repair some of his "junk", I mean equipment. LOL
I cleaned these blades up...

Slapped on some paint...

Found some homespun for hanging....

And now my junk is a lovely unique trio of "Decorative Junk".
These are listed in my etsy shop.
Have a wonderful day!

Spring Bunny Watering Can and a Diagnosis

Over a month of doctor appointments, two ER visits, and multiple tests, we have finally gotten a diagnosis for my middle son. Seems he has a condition called Neurocardiogenic Syncope. We are so thankful that it is not a more serious diagnosis and our thanks to all the family and friends who were praying. He will be fine and chances are he will grow out of it. He will just have to learn the signs and know when and what to do. So, now I can breathe a little more deeper and get back to my therapy.....painting!
This is a reproduction watering can that I painted with a Terrye French design.
The coffee stained hang tag is tied to some pip berries that are wrapped with homespun to the handle.Looking forward to some more sunshine this week.
I will be posting my first give away in the next few days so stay tuned......
Blessings,

Taz....He's A Special Guy

Here is Taz....he hasn't been able to use his back legs properly since birth.
The vet believes it is spinal trama or congenital narrowing of cord in the lumbar region.
He can stand on his own for 10 to 15 minutes, with our help. He can't get up on his own. Here he is in his sling. He really likes this, as he can move around without falling over.
His mom is so wonderful. She knows that we are trying to help her baby and hasn't offered to hurt us. She stands very still while we work with him and as you can see has made herself available for feeding.
As of tonight, Taz is being treated at the Colorado State University Vet Hospital. They can do more for him there, and also he is getting too heavy for us to lift. He has taken a lot of extra TLC and time. I am hoping to get back to painting soon! We are almost done calving and I saw a few blades of grass coming up in the pasture yesterday....WHOOOOOHOOOOO!

This is a bench I made from an old rusty headboard. It has a fall design by Rene Mullins painted on the headboard. I sold it last year at a shop in Cheyenne where I consigned my wares. The customer who purchased the bench contacted me this winter wanting a winter season and a summer season for the bench.
So I cut out a piece of 1/4" plywood that matched the shape of the headboard and painted this on one side....(Also a Rene Mullins design)
And painted this summer scene on the other side.

Now I am trying to come up with a way to attach the new inserts to the headboard...I think a trip to Home Depot is in order for tomorrow.

Blessings,
Doris~

SpRiNg FeVeR!!!!

Just can't wait for Spring to get here! It is beautiful here today. We have a new baby calf that needs some extra TLC. We call him Taz....he wasn't able to walk at birth due to pinched nerves . He could only pivot on his front legs...thus the name Taz, as he would only go in cirlcles on his front legs. He received acupuncture from our vet last night and he is doing so much better today. He can stand on his own for a few minutes. I will post pictures tomorrow. So, with the little time I have had, I have been trying to finish up another custom order, which I will post later and I wanted to make a Spring Themed Glass Block Light.
This is what I came up with. This design is from Renee Mullins. Here it is pictured not lit up.

There is a strand of 20 lights inside the glass block. Makes a great night light.
Here is the top of the light. A piece of homespun is wrapped around the outside of the light and a few pip berries are inter-twined in the knot on top.
I think it turned out pretty cute! I will be listing this in my etsy store.
I hope your getting some Spring Weather where you are.
Blessings,
Doris~
